The recent matchup between the JV Lady Cubs and the Hirschi Huskies showed just how much the JV Lady Cubs are improving under Head Coach Pulliam. The volleyball program is still in its infancy at Olney ISD, but with each passing year, the program is gaining ground on making it a very successful program.
The Lady Cubs fall season with the Sunrise Optimist League (SOL) has begun. These Lady Cubs really show their dedication to doing everything they can to be the best they can at softball. Instead of taking it easy in the weeks before school begins, they join and participate in a fall softball league to help prepare for the upcoming softball season for Olney ISD.
The Olney Cubs Varsity and Junior Varsity traveled to Haskell to play the season’s first official scrimmage. Both teams scrimmaged for roughly a couple hours before the teams went live for one quarter.
On Aug. 14, the Olney Freshman and Junior Varsity Lady Cub volleyball team hosted the Lady Indians this past Friday. The Lady Cubs fought hard and with plenty of spirit, but both teams fell short of victory.
During a recent Olney Cub inner team scrimmage, you could get the sense that there was a new attitude from the players for this upcoming season. The Cubs have an attitude this season of being a winner, both on the field and off.
