On Nov. 30, the Olney Lady Cubs faced off against the Ranger Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Cubs came out in the first period, fired up and ready to play. The defense played a significant role for both teams as the score was kept low throughout the match. However, the Lady Cubs Offense was stronger in the end and took the win with a score of 37-22.
On Nov. 30, the Mighty Olney Cubs faced off against the Ranger Bulldogs for the Cubs’ second home game. The Cubs looked great, showing plenty of positive aggression on the court, keeping the game close throughout the matchup. Unfortunately, the Cubs fell to the Bulldogs with a 26-32 score. The game could have easily gone to the Cubs if not for a few too many missed buckets. However, many say that Coach Ballard has done an excellent job preparing the Cubs for the 2021-2022 season, considering the close win. Highlights from the
Many Olney residents may already know and follow along with a regular local Facebook live show titled, “The Coaches Show.” The show is produced weekly on Thursdays around noon, for the Olney Athletic Booster Club. The show is hosted by Olney Mayor Rue Rogers and Jack Bailey, Manager of Tower Extrusions. Pastor of First Baptist Church of Olney, Chad Edgington, handles all the production, technical aspects of the show and broadcasting. Olney ISD Athletic Director and Head Coach of the Olney Cub Football Team Jody Guy, is the regular interviewee of the show.
