Meet the candidate: A.J. Johnson, OISD TrusteePlace 7
A.J. Johnson, owner of A.J.’s Tree and Lawn Service, is running for Place 7 on the Olney Independent School District Board of Trustees in the May 6 municipal election. Mr. Johnson moved to Olney three years ago with his wife, Cassie Johnson, and their three children, ages 10, 8, and 4. The Johnson children attend Olney public schools and Mrs. Johnson is an AP psychology and arts professor at Olney High School. Mr. Johnson is running for the seat held by Craig Mahler.

OHS debate students compete at State
Over spring break on March 13 and 14, Olney Cross-Examination, or CX, Debate teams traveled to Austin to compete at the State Qualifier Competition. Allie Barrington and Adelade Edgington alongside Rodolfo Arce and Aidyn Bitner competed in a long four rounds starting at 8:00 am and wrapping up around 8:00 pm. Both teams represented Olney extremely well, Rodolfo and Aidyn advanced to finals that took place on March 14th. They ended up placing in the top 8 teams in Texas. OHS is very proud of each of these young adults and looks forward to seeing their future successes!
