Cubs advance to regional cross country meet

The Olney Cubs and Lady Cubs participated in the district meet on Wednesday, Oct. 11, in Seymour. The Cubs finished in the top three to earn a trip to the regional cross country meet. The Lady Cubs effort to advance fell short.

The Cubs were led by Jaxx Laurent with a time of 20:54. He was followed by Adrian Gonzales who had a time of 21:42. Next came Caden Lane with 22:28. Less than a minute later Sawyer Edgington finished at 23:17. Zach Organ followed with 23:36.

Although the Lady Cubs didn’t advance to regional, they ran a good race. Ava Stewart had a time of 15:06, placing her 13th. Morgan Simmons came in next with 15:50, and Mallory Jeske followed with a time of 19:33.

The regional cross country meet will be held Oct. 24-25 in Grand Prairie at Lynn Creek Park.
