On April 21, the Olney Cubs hosted their rivals the Seymour Panthers. The Cubs game one of the district double headers was led by #1 Lisle pitching and #21 Jacoba took the reins pitching for game two. The Cubs fought hard but failed to slow their rivals down during both games, losing game one 2-15 and game two 4-17.
On April 19, the Olney High School [OHS] Lady Cubs softball team hosted the Graford Lady Rabbits. The Lady Rabbits ran away from the Lady Cubs early in the game scoring 6 runs to 0 in the first inning, a lightning and storm threat briefly paused the game for the two teams. Once the game resumed the Lady Rabbits continued to push their way to the win, outscoring the Lady Cubs 18-4, securing a Lady Rabbits win.
Hallie Cuba is 17 years old and is in the 11th grade. She has advanced to State in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) robotics competition and the UIL Literary Criticism competition.
The Lady Cubs Softball team celebrated Senior night with parents and players during the Lady Cubs District Match up with the Windthorst Lady Trojans April 12. The Lady Cubs failed to secure the win but the team did manage to have a fun night with parents and friends.
#5 Enriquez, Pitcher for the OHS Lady Cubs, didn’t allow a single run during the district game against the Chico Lady Dragons. The Lady Cubs shut out the Lady Dragons to claim the win 10 to 0. Enriquez pitched all 5 innings, striking out nine Lady Dragons.
