Varsity Softball

This softball season, the Lady Cubs have fought hard in each game and kept their hustle going. Coach Mollie Pace is very proud of the girls for what they have accomplished this season through the good and bad. The girls recently competed against Bryson and had a successful night, winning 26-17.

Taylor Lawrence [shown] of Olney High School earned first place in the women’s pole vault during the Olney Invitational Track meet. Jennifer Martinez of OHS placed third at the meet in the women’s pole vault. Other highlights include OHS Men’s Varsity placed second overall with a score of 108 and Women’s Varsity placed third with a score of 92. Pantego Christian took first place for the meet in both Men’s and Women’s Varsity. The following OHS studentathletes finished in the top four of their respective events: Angel Alvarado placed fourth in 100m, Jose Melchor placed fourth in 400m, Mallory Jeske placed fourth in 3,200m, Jaylee Carr won first in 100m and 300m hurdles, Brady Bowers placed second in 300m hurdles, Camron McComack placed second in 110m and 300m hurdles, Angel Alvarado, Gatlin Guy, Camron McComack and Christopher Hernandez placed second in 4x100 and 4x200 relay, Katelynn Bailey, Brady Bowers, Dana Castillo, and Abby Guerra placed fourth in 4x200 and first in 4x400 relay. Newcastle’s Men’s team placed third in the 4x400 relay, Peyton Valdez placed third in the Men’s 12-pound shot put, Newcastle’s Ty Strawbridge placed third in the 1.6kg discus, Newcastle’s Kenny Jones placed third in Men’s high jump, Camron McComack placed first in Men’s pole vault, Ace Cribbs placed second in Men’s pole vault, Caden Lane placed fourth in Men’s pole vault, Angel Alvarado placed third in the long jump and first in the triple jump.
