The Olney Lady Cubs put up a fight against the Lady Dragons on Friday, April 7, but they recorded a 13-4 loss. The Lady Cubs have learned from what they have struggled with, which Coach Mollie Pace says are their small errors.
As of last month, Jason Powers has been named as the new head football coach for the Olney Cubs. A head football coach coordinates all the practices and drills, and ensures that players understand what they need to do. The head football coach even oversees all the assistant coaches. Despite Coach Powers’s love for Olney, he did not always live here.
After competing in the regional competition, Olney Junior High Texas Math and Science Coaches Association teams advanced to state in San Antonio on Saturday, April 1. Both team and individual awards were given to each grade and team, with OJH earning third place overall of 14 1A/2A TMSCA schools.
Coach Gunter Rodriguez, a longtime employee of Olney ISD, has taken the position of Athletic Director of the Olney Cubs and Lady Cubs athletic program after holding the position of principal of Olney Elementary School for six years.
