Future Cubs enjoy free camp

Girls from Olney and surrounding areas in grades two through six enjoyed a free volleyball camp on July 19-21. Kalynn Philipp, who runs the Olney Youth Sports Facebook and Youth Organization, was the inspiration and key planner and was disappointed to have been under the weather during the event and could not attend.

OHS gym filled with Cub spirit

Alyson Orsak, third grade Olney Elementary School teacher and Cheer Sponsor for the 2022-2023 Olney High School Cheer Squad, hosted a fundraiser/cheer camp with the help of the OHS Cheer Squad and Baylee Orsak. Orsak said the goal was to raise money for the OHS Cheer Squad. Among other skills, the campers learned fundamentals of cheerleading including stunt & jump, chanting, cheering, having fun and instilling spirit. Cheer camp lasted from July 21-23 and ended with a live performance, performed by cheer camp attendees for parents and the local community.

Second Annual McClatchy Golf Tournament Returns to ORA

On July 30 and 31, the second annual “The McClatchy” golf tournament returns to the Olney Country Club. The tourney is a two-person scramble with a maximum of 64 teams. Team entry fee is $300 with tee offs at 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. There will be a steak dinner and Calcutta auction following the afternoon session. For more information on entering the Calcutta auction please call Landon Rowe at 940- 613-5773. The tourney is located at 1 Bankhead Dr. in Olney.
