Our Lady Cubs are on fire this season! As proof of their heart, dedication and determination, the Lady Cubs swept the Perrin- Whitt Lady Pirates in a recent meet-up. The scores over the five-game series were: 18-25, 25-12, 25-22, 21-25, 15-6.
The Cubs traveled to Petrolia September 2, to match grit and heart against the Pirates. The Pirates have for years given a true test of where the Cubs are at in terms of readiness for the season. The Pirates always seem to have some of the biggest players in the district and the prowess on the field usually matches the size of their players.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes Spirit Night was full of laughter and fun events, including a lively dodgeball game, pizza, cupcakes and poster-making to support Homecoming and the fall sports teams. The FCA spreads God’s word to athletes. Olney ISD Coach Powers described the event as “our kickoff for the year.”
Newcastle Ladycats are starting the season fired up winning the Aspermont tournament recently, sweeping the series 6-0. The Cubs played a scrimmage with the Electra Tigers during the annual Meet the Cubs Event. The Cubs scored several touchdowns during the scrimmage and looked to dominate the Tigers.
