Two FFA teams compete at state contest

The Olney FFA Ag Sales and Farm Business Management teams ended their year competing at the FFA State Competition April 28 in Huntsville.

The Ag Sales team placed 14th out of more than 100 teams. The Farm Business Management team finished 57th against more than 100 teams.

“Our teams did great and we Ag Teachers are very proud of all their accomplishments this year,” said coach Alexandria Rowe.

The Ag Sales team consisted of Ellie Hinson, Richard Walp, Taaron Scrogom, and Aubrey Mahler. The FBM team consisted of Angel Alvarado, Gatlin Guy, Peyton Valdez, and Eva Ekberg. Brady Reid was the second coach.

“I had a wonderful time at state. We got to have fun and work hard for our Ag Sales event,” said Hinson. “I believe that we did a wonderful job, especially being the first time doing this event, and worked hard doing this event.”

“FFA state was a blast even if we didn’t end up winning in the end. It was a great learning experience,” Valdez said.
