Cubs fall to No. 2 in State, Bearcats

The Olney Cubs were on the road on Oct. 21 to face off against the number 2 team in the state, the Hawley Bearcats. The Cubs fought with heart and grit but lost to the Bearcats 7-34. The Cubs put up a total of 297-yards to the Bearcats’ 302 yards. It could have been a tighter game if the Cubs had pushed through in the red zone. Overall, the Cubs made very few mistakes and controlled the ball for the majority of the game. The passing game of the Bearcats helped edge out the Cubs in this district matchup. This was a second time in district play that referees out of Abilene had Cub fans and coaches scratching their heads as the refs ignored the majority of the holding calls against the Bearcats. Fight on Cubs!!!
