Candidates Steven Nurre and Kathy Schrader Muncy will compete for the open City Council seat in the Nov. 5 election. The winner will fill a seat left open by the departure of Councilmember Harrison Wellman and serve out the remainder of Mr. Wellman’s term, which ends in May 2025. The Enterprise interviewed both candidates.
Democrat Colin Allred, a congressman, civil rights attorney and former NFL linebacker, is challenging incumbent Republican Ted Cruz for his U.S. Senate seat this election cycle. The Enterprise submitted questions about issues of local interest. We received a statement from Rep. Allred but no responses to the questions, so we gathered information on pertinent issues from their campaign websites.
Republican Brent Hagenbuch, the founder of Titus Transport of Denton, and his Democratic opponent, Dale Frey, a web developer assigned to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency, are running for the District 30 Texas Senate seat that will be vacated by Republican incumbent Drew Springer in January.
The Enterprise recently interviewed the two candidates running to represent Olney in the Texas House of Representatives about issues facing District 68. David Spiller, the Republican incumbent, and Stacey Swann, an author and teacher from Lampasas County, face each other in the Nov. 5 general election.
