Young County Commissioners met on Sept. 23, and agreed to convert the Tax Assessor/Collector’s office into a new office for the County Auditor, to hold a concert to fund the Young County Arena, and to lift the burn ban.
Cases pled in the 90th Judicial District Court for the Month of August: Jason Figeroa, (46 years of age): Graham, Texas, pled true to violations 1A, 8, and 12 and pled not true to violation 13 alleged in the State’s Motion to Revoke Community Supervision for the offense of Driving While Intoxicated, Third or More, and was sentenced to eight (8) years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice – Institutional Division (TDCJ-ID), and was ordered to pay remaining fine and court cost.
An Olney woman pleaded guilty to intoxicated driving that killed her passenger, Codey Jonathon Henderson of Olney, and was sentenced to eight years in prison.
The OPD lobby will be open starting Monday, Sept. 30 from 8 a.m. to noon, he said. The window will be staffed by a temporary employee who will also do some administrative tasks while dispatcher Brandy Blodgett recovers from an accident, he said.
