School administrators have a mouse problem under control two weeks after parents complained at a school board meeting about a bumper crop of the critters on campus.
Olney marches for Jesus for 26th year
An army of children and adults from churches around Olney set off on the 26th annual March for Jesus on a bright Saturday “at the prompting of The Holy Spirit,” Verma Fobbs, the event’s founder, said. After a great deal of resisting that prompt, she organized the first March for Jesus in 1999, and continued every year for more than a quarter-century.
State Farm gives to OVFD for Fire Prevention Month
Johnny Moore of State Farm Insurance in Olney donated educational material to the Olney Volunteer Fire Department to promote Fire Prevention Week and National Fire Prevention Month in October. Mr. Moore handed over pamphlets bringing attention to the need to install and regularly test home smoke alarms to OVFD Chief Clint Pulliam.
