The Law & Order Golf Tournament, held on Saturday at the Olney Country Club, raised $3,000 for the Olney Police Department’s new police station, OPD Chief Dan Birbeck said. The winners of the scramble took home a police department challenge coin. Neal Welch won the 50/50 pot and donated his winnings back to the police station project, Chief Birbeck said. Our friends over at the Young County Olney Senior Cub Center [Cub Center] celebrated Veterans Day with a special free lunch. Attendees celebrated local veterans who were invited for the afternoon’s festivities.
The Refuge hosted its annual Turkey Trot at Tom Griffin Park on Saturday on an afternoon of spectacular fall weather. The 3K run through Olney attracted a horde of kids and adults, some in costumes, to raise money for Keep Olney Beautiful.
