Great Music at Amity Club’s March Meeting

The theme for the meeting was: “Music is the universal language of mankind.” This said, the guest at the meeting was Jerrol Higgins, a very gifted piano player who opened his part of the program with his favorite song: “Great is Thy Faithfulness,” old songs from Gershwin and Cole Porter. He also played requests from members and guests. A point of interest … Jerrol has played since he was three years old! He finds that music gives hope through difficult family times. Those in attendance to enjoy the beautiful music were Bobby Wright, Jeanie Spivey, Lucretia Taylor, Evelyn Altmiller, Judy Averett, Rita Choat, Nita Hearn, Marilyn Norris, Carolyn Penn, Margie Snyder, Donna Sullivan, Ronni Walker, Phyllis Whitsitt, and Judi Winslow. Several members brought guests. There was a short meeting and refreshments after the music program. There was discussion about donating to The Refuge to help young children who need after-school help.
