Hay prices reach 50-year high
The state agriculture extension warned that hay supplies would remain tight and the price of feeding herds through the winter would likely rise as farmers reckon with effects from the 2022 drought and spiking prices for fertilizer, grain and other supplemental feed.
Throckmorton woman dies in crash near Graham
A Throckmorton woman died in a single-vehicle accident after her car crashed into a tree north of Graham at Eddleman Lake in rainy conditions on Feb. 7, the Texas Highway Patrol said in a statement.
Senior Cub Center celebrates Souper-Bowl
Olney had its own Super Bowl Sunday MVPs. That would be our friends over at the Young County Senior Cub Center [YCSCC] who cooked up a delicious stew, cornbread and desserts. The meal is a tradition here in Olney and goes way back. The proceeds go to help fund programs at the Cub Center and is always something the community of Olney looks forward to each year on Superbowl Sunday.
Olney Library welcomes Celtic guitarist, storyteller
The Olney Community Library and Arts Center is pleased to once again welcome acclaimed Celtic guitarist and storyteller Jerry Barlow for a special concert next month. The program will be held Thursday, March 23 at 6 p.m. at the Library at 807 W. Hamilton St. in Olney. The program is sponsored by the Library and is free to the community.
