Souper Bowl at Senior Cub Center a success
Folks at the Young County-Olney Senior Cub Center hosted one of their most popular charity events of the year, the Souper Bowl.
The event coincides with the National Football League’s Super Bowl each year and includes a delicious stew, dessert, drink and great fellowship with fellow community members and all for a great cause. The meal was $10 and could be eaten at the Cub Center or taken to go. The event was a great way to get a delicious and nutritious meal before traditional Super Bowl snacking began.
Cub Center Director Angela Lockard thanked everyone in the community who came out and supported the Cub Center.
“And thank you to all the volunteers, the Cub board of directors, and the House of Mercy for making it all possible!” she said.
“I thought today went great, the food was delicious and there was a great turnout,” Cub Center Activity Director Candy Blair said. The event raised an estimated $5,000 and sold about 160 lunches.
