The Olney Cubs traveled to Archer City to battle district rivals the Wildcats. This was an old school knockdown defensive battle that had both teams scrambling for control of the game. With both teams being successful while shooting it came down to rebounds, steals and defensive prowess. The Cubs fought hard for this district rivalry but fell short losing to the Wildcats 31-38. Fight on, Cubs!
The OHS Powerlifting team traveled to Vernon to compete in the Lion Tournament and came away with a win.Powerlifting Coach Casey Keeter said it was a “huge day for Olney Powerlifting!” with the team winning 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.
The Lady Cubs hosted the Lady Trojans, second in district ranking, for a district matchup that had the Lady Cubs fighting for their life and pride. The Lady Cubs fell behind early in the matchup and never came out of the hole against a more experienced and aggressive team. Lady Cubs-14 Lady Trojans 70. Highlights for the Lady Cubs included 4-points by #3 Natalie Rodriguez, 5-points by #4 Hallie Williams. Fight on, Lady Cubs!
The Olney Cubs hosted the Windthorst Trojans in a district matchup that turned into a battle of wills. The Cubs are feeling Jose Castillo’s absence on the court but still mounted a great game against the Trojans. The Cubs had some missteps in the first period with a combination of missed buckets and steals by the Trojans. Trojans overtook the Cubs, 44-70. #1 Jacob Hernandez stepped up for the Cubs with a huge game, driving through defenders on the way to the bucket and drawing fouls along the way. Henandez scored 18-points. Fight on, Cubs!
