Cubs compete at first powerlifting meet

Olney’s Lady Cubs basketball team lost their home game against Windthorst High School on Friday, Jan. 26, by a score of 70-14. However, four days later on Tuesday, Jan. 30, they bounced back and won their away game against Archer City High School, 33-20.
The district closed Olney High School Jan. 2326 due to a large amount of illness-caused student and teacher absences. The district was able to make that decision because of extra minutes available on the calendar.
The OHS Lady Cubs traveled to Archer City to battle district rivals the Ladycats.
The Olney Cubs traveled to Archer City to battle district rivals the Wildcats. This was an old school knockdown defensive battle that had both teams scrambling for control of the game. With both teams being successful while shooting it came down to rebounds, steals and defensive prowess. The Cubs fought hard for this district rivalry but fell short losing to the Wildcats 31-38. Fight on, Cubs!
