Lady Cubs Volleyball team on a winning streak

The Lady Cubs have been on a new winning streak as of last week They won their game against Bellevue on Tuesday, Sept. 17, and also won their game against Prairie Valley on Friday, Sept. 20.

The Lady Cubs won the game against Bellevue in four sets, and the scores were 18-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-22. The scores for the game against Prairie Valley were 25-18, 1625, 25-18, 18-25, 15-13, with the Lady Cubs winning in five sets.

“My thoughts are that the Lady Cubs fought hard to win both of the games, and we put everything that we had into the game,” Brooklynn Bond, junior, said.

The Lady Cubs have seen a lot of improvement over the season, especially in games.

“The team has improved tremendously since the beginning of the season,” Bond said. “We have gained more communication skills, and just skills in general.”

Many of the players and coaches also agreed that they’ve gained useful skills.

“I have seen a lot of positive changes this season,” Coach Nikole Piercy said. “They have a ton of hustle and determination. They are becoming more consistent across the board in skills and have learned to constantly encourage one another.”

With district games coming up, the Lady Cubs have been working hard to prepare..

“I believe we have a great chance in district,” Piercy said. “We have several Varsity returners that are determined to make a playoff run and ultimately a difference in the girls athletic program.
