A tense standoff involving a suicidal man who allegedly fired a gun inside his home ended without injuries last week, but underscored the ongoing struggle to get adequate mental health care for residents in Olney and across Young County.
An Olney man was arrested earlier this month after police say he violently assaulted a woman at a residence on Hamilton Street, causing multiple broken bones in her face, Olney Interim Police Chief Autumn Thames said.
A 20-year-old Olney woman has been arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child following an investigation by the Olney Police Department into allegations of sexual contact between an adult and a 13-year-old child.
