The Olney City Council unanimously adopted the city’s fiscal year 2025– 2026 municipal appropriations budget at its Sept. 22 meeting after a brief public hearing that drew no public comments.
The 90th District Courtroom inside the Young County Courthouse is in the midst of a modest facelift, with District Judge Phillip Gregory overseeing updates designed to balance modern function with historic character.
A severe storm with supercell characteristics struck Olney on Sept. 21 around 4:30 p.m., leaving a wide trail of destruction from Main Street southward and cutting power to parts of town for more than an hour. Officials are still awaiting word from the National Weather Service on whether the storm produced a tornado.
