100 Years Ago - July 16, 1920

Pictured are the Fortner’s shaking things up at the grand opening of Cub Nutrition and Energy on Friday July 3rd. Laura Fortner owner operator of Cub Nutrition said the grand opening was a complete success. Fortner says” they were overwhelmed with the outpouring of support from the community” Although Fortner did not have the opportunity to chat with everyone that came in because Cubs was so busy for the opening, she hopes to be able to meet and chat with the community in the weeks to come. I grew up in a dysfunctional family. My mother put me on the church bus every Wednesday evening, and made a way so I would be in Sunday School come Sunday morning. I had negative influences in my life, but my mother always showed me to the best of her ability how I should act and conduct myself. My father was abusive to both my mother and me. I remember praying a lot as a child but with years of abuse and no changes, God seemed to be something like a fairy tale to me.
