On Nov. 30, the Mighty Olney Cubs faced off against the Ranger Bulldogs for the Cubs’ second home game. The Cubs looked great, showing plenty of positive aggression on the court, keeping the game close throughout the matchup. Unfortunately, the Cubs fell to the Bulldogs with a 26-32 score. The game could have easily gone to the Cubs if not for a few too many missed buckets. Many Olney residents may already know and follow along with a regular local Facebook live show titled, “The Coaches Show.” The show is produced weekly on Thursdays around noon, for the Olney Athletic Booster Club. The show is hosted by Olney Mayor Rue Rogers and Jack Bailey, Manager of Tower Extrusions. Pastor of First Baptist Church of Olney, Chad Edgington, handles all the production, technical aspects of the show and broadcasting. Olney ISD Athletic Director and Head Coach of the Olney Cub Football Team Jody Guy, is the regular interviewee of the show.

Legendary NFL/AFL Quarterback Cotton Davidson Set for Book Signing, Nov. 27

The City of Gatesville will help legendary NFL/AFL quarterback and Baylor Coach Cotton Davidson celebrate the publication of his memoir by hosting a book signing at the Coryell Museum and Historical Center from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27. Davidson and Wayland Corgill, Olney High School graduate Class of 1956, are co-authors.
