During June and July, the Children’s Library of the Olney Community Library and Arts Center provided an opportunity for young readers to keep track of their reading during the summer months.
Life seems to have a way of putting us in situations that we would never do to ourselves. I am not sure that I would have ever picked Olney as the place to settle in and call home.
Jared Bodkin of the financial services firm Edward Jones in Seymour recently earned the firm’s Frank Finnegan Award for his exceptional achievement in building client relationships. Several of the responses I received about the article I wrote last week went something like this: “This is Texas, I am Texan, and I don’t want the government telling me what to do.” Well, who does want the government bossing them around, especially about personal matters? I never want to come across like I am standing on a soapbox and telling you how to live your life. That is not my job, and that would take too much effort. My goal is simple, to stimulate thought and perhaps a paradigm shift--on a good day.
