The Olney Volunteer Fire Department held their 2020 banquet on Feb. 20, 2020. The evening began with honoring a few guests in attendance, followed by a chicken fried steak dinner. Gunter Rodriguez was the host on the night, announcing prizes awarded to some lucky winners in attendance with special thanks to many businesses in Olney and around the area.
In January of 2010 the HOWF was awarded first non-profit Better Business Bureau (BBB) Torch Award for marketplace excellence. October of 2011 HOWF achieved a new milestone by cared for 200 patients and their loved ones throughout their service area. In late 2015 HOWF began a Palliative care program, Palliative Care of North Texas which was an important step in expanding total care for the facility for patients and family members of patients.
Michael Grothe is a Level 4 resident at the House of Mercy Enterprises (H.O.M.E.). He said he plans to get married after completing the program. However, before he started the program, he was suicidal, but the House of Mercy has given him a reason to live, and the House of Mercy has changed his life by teaching him the truth of God’s Word.
The federal government requires many students who submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to verify the information included on the FAFSA. The students requiring verification are chosen by the U.S. Department of Education.
