On June 15, the Olney Community Library and Arts Center (OCLAC) continued its summer of fun events at the library with a visit from the Dallas Puppet Theater (DPT).
Bailee Green has painted a large mural of a saluting scout on the wall of Cub Cleaners. The wall sits directly behind the Boy Scout Memorial that is dedicated to Scouts of Olney who reached the Eagle Scout rank. (Visit OlneyEnterprise.com to read about the Scout Memorial dedication.)
I recently attended the event at Ft. Belknap called Crawfish & Cannons...an “Americana” event! The crowd came (1,200 or so). The band played. The cannons blasted. Visiting the newly remodeled museum was outstanding. And, the crawfish was tasty, even if I never quite accomplished the technique of eating them! It was heart-warming as I looked across the crowd on that beautiful day, just thinking about America and our lives and privileges we enjoy as Americans. And of course, being true Texans, we experienced Americana at its best.
A sunny warm day with a light breeze was the stage for the 42nd Annual Pet Show.
