Olney City Pool Splash Days
Splash Day was held June 7 at the Olney City Pool to officially kick off the summer season. The turnout was a success. Allen said, “we are giving the kids a great place to go this summer!”
Publisher’s Points to Ponder: Fairy tale-ing or truth telling
When I was 6 years old, my mother gave me my first set of books that contained colorful characters I eventually called friends. Many of the stories I read in those books are called fairy tales. These two words alone imply deception, but children look past that to find a possible pathway to their purpose in life. I was one of those little girls who believed every word. However, as I grew older, I learned that life is not a fairy tale.
Olney Chamber: Quarterly Luncheon
On June 8, the Olney Chamber of Commerce held their quarterly luncheon. The topic for this meeting was marketing, specifically focusing on social media marketing. Speakers present were Billie Mullins with Brazos Communications, Laura Fortner, owner of Cub Nutrition, and Lacey Bullock with LB Business Services.
Even “singles” need estate plans
If you don’t have a spouse or children, you might think you don’t need to do much estate planning. But if you have any assets, any familial connections, any interest in supporting charitable groups – not to mention a desire to control your own future – you do need to establish an estate plan.
