The Olney Police Department invites residents to Griffin Park this Saturday, Oct. 15 for Olney Night Out - a weekend version of the National Night Out celebrated by law enforcement across the country - to visit with city and county first responders.
Diana Jeffreys’s photography is a study of the overlapping textures of the Old and New Wests, and her exhibit at the Olney Community Library and Arts Center features everything from full-color big sky panoramas to the black-and-white portraits of saddles, spurs, and other accouterments of the cowboy life. She said she fell in love with photographing the cowboy way while taking photos of her husband roping cattle on his family ranch near Graham.
The Olney City Council discussed giving away foreclosed lots to buyers who were prepared to build on them within a year of purchase after twice rejecting bids from would-be buyers who failed to specify how they planned to use the properties.
