Sen. Springer seeks COVID vaccine investigation
State Sen. Drew Springer has co-sponsored a bill that instructs the Texas Department of Health and Human Services to study adverse reactions to and the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines and to report its findings within a year. The bill, co-sponsored by Rep. Dustin Burrows, seeks to fill what the two lawmakers say is a gap in the federal government’s reporting on these issues as well as “any misrepresentations about the effectiveness or dangers of taking the vaccine by its manufacturers or any governmental agency or any concealment of information about the effectiveness or dangers of taking the vaccines by their manufacturers or any governmental agency.” He said the bill “will ensure Texans have the freedom to make an informed decision on whether they would like to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.”
