County eyes abatement extension for Plug Power
County Commissioners voted to hold two public hearings to allow Plug Power to renew its tax agreement with the County for the hydrogen plant it is building near Graham, and whose tax revenue Olney Hamilton Hospital is counting on for its new hospital project.
OPD steps up drug interdiction efforts
Olney Police have stepped up their drug interdiction activities recently, and Chief Dan Birbeck advised citizens to stay away from known drug users and dealers to “avoid the attention of law enforcement.”
Council approves new emergency radios
The Olney City Council voted to spend about $342,000 of the remaining grant funds from the American Rescue Plan Act [ARPA] on emergency radios for the police, fire and public works departments to facilitate better communication during emergencies.
