All through our lives, there are new beginnings. I can think of so many times when this is true. That thought came to mind when I was doing a complete “surgery” on my large pot of ivy. I cut, trimmed, and started new future plants in water. With care, each cut will become a new life in a pot.
On May 24, the Olney Community Library and Arts Center [OCLAC] hosted a reception for local artist and photographer Brie Dinwiddie. Twice a year, the OCLAC hosts a local artist, displaying the artists’ work such as paintings, photography, pottery and drawings, to name a few forms of art that go on display. The reception for Dinwiddie was a chance for the artist to mingle with the public and discuss her art.
As I listened to the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra play Feb. 15, at the Graham Memorial Auditorium, it dawned on me that I had never heard a symphony orchestra play in person. I have been to musicals and ballets where a small orchestra played in the pit below the stage, but this was my first full symphony experience. It will not be my last.
