Everyone knows the Harry Potter franchise. The books have sold nearly half a billion copies. The eight films have grossed nearly $8 billion. It has spun off the “Fantastic Beasts” trilogy, a stage play, theme park locations, and more. Needless to say, it has a lot of fans. If you’re one of them, consider visiting Harry Potter: The Exhibition, which is currently touring Dallas.
Olney Senior Center Scores with Souper Bowl Fundraiser
The Young County Olney Senior Cub Center hosted its annual Super Bowl fundraiser, fittingly called Souper Bowl, a playful nod to the hearty homemade soups served at the event. Guests enjoyed generous portions of soup—more stew than soup—along with cornbread, a drink, and a homemade dessert.
Gaming Offers New Way to Reach Veterans
This past weekend, January 30 through February 1, I traveled to Austin, Texas to attend the American Legion Department of Texas Mid-Winter Convention and Department Executive Committee (DEC) meeting. During the convention, we heard reports from chairmen across a wide range of programs, including Americanism, Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, Finance, and several others.
