The Olney Community Library and Art Center [OCLAC] has been keeping little ones busy this summer with plenty of fun activities, including the Daniel G. Benes Science Shows. Mr. Benes, a member of the Science Teachers Association of Texas and the World Association of Technology Teachers, travels all over Texas teaching children about science and how science can be fun.

There was an item on one of the Wichita Falls news stations. I wasn’t paying much attention to it, but the closing comment from the person being interviewed included, “There’s nothing to do in Wichita Falls,” a complaint he’d heard.
Do you remember when we looked forward to sitting with the family in the evenings to watch great TV shows such as “I Love Lucy,” “Father Knows Best,” “Gunsmoke,” “Get Smart, ” and “The Andy Griffith Show”? Of course, there was “Hee Haw,” and so many others.
