Second Annual McClatchy Golf Tournament Returns to ORA

On July 30 and 31, the second annual “The McClatchy” golf tournament returns to the Olney Country Club. The tourney is a two-person scramble with a maximum of 64 teams. Team entry fee is $300 with tee offs at 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. There will be a steak dinner and Calcutta auction following the afternoon session. For more information on entering the Calcutta auction please call Landon Rowe at 940- 613-5773. The tourney is located at 1 Bankhead Dr. in Olney.

Kiara Allen, Olney High School [OHS] 2021 graduate, received the honor of being placed on the Presidents Honor Roll. Only about the top 30 percent of undergraduates receive the honor, which is earned with a 4.0 GPA and having academic excellence.

Olney ISD celebrates athletes at annual banquet

On May 16, Olney High School [OHS] Athletic Department hosted the end-of-year athletic banquet. OHS Athletics has had a successful year in many areas, including a District title for the Olney Cubs Football team after 21 years. This year, golf and track had great success, with teams going to Regionals. Other Cub and Lady Cub sports were acknowledged for progressing although the teams did not make it to the playoffs.
