DEVOTIONAL
How glorious it is for the child of God to meditate upon a passage such as this, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” Who can plumb the depths of its meaning? Indeed, there is not one who is born of flesh who can truly grasp or comprehend the breadth or length or height or depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses all comprehension. For Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God Who came into this world to be a living sacrifice for all who would come to Him in faith and repentance. He came not to be served, but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many. Though He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave them the right to become children of God; even to those who believe in His name, who were born not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
