Commissioner’s Court

Commissioners Court of Young County held a meeting on Monday, Apr. 12. The meeting began with public comments, announcements and presentations. Judge Bullock gave a COVID-19 update for Young county, stating that 44 have passed away in the county from COVID-19 complications, as well as over 2,700 people making a full recovery from the virus. There are currently only 5 active cases in Young County—which is extremely low after certain throughout the past year of having 300 active cases. Judge Bullock also noted that thou sands of individuals have received the COVID-19 vaccine in the county thus far.

City Council

The Olney City Council held a regular meeting on Monday, April 12 at 6 p.m. The meeting began administering the oath of office for the city secretary, followed by discussing the lease of Brazos Truck and Auto Building on 302 E Elm St, to Air Tractor. This was discussed during the special called meeting on April 6, but no decision was made as Mr. Welch was requested to provide details before moving forward.
