Olney’s own Isabel Piegat, 14, is making waves—literally. The young swimmer recently competed in a USA Swim meet hosted by an Oklahoma-based team and came home with her first-ever “A” time in the 100yard freestyle, marking a major milestone in her swimming journey.
Main Street in Olney was transformed into a scene straight out of a storybook Friday night as hundreds of costumed children, parents, and even a few festively dressed dogs packed downtown for the Olney Chamber of Commerce’s annual Halloween Parade and Trunk or Treat event. Witches, superheroes, pi- rates, and princesses darted between decorated trunks as local businesses and organizations handed out candy and showed off their creative Halloween displays. The smell of popcorn and the sound of laughter filled the cool autumn air as families from Olney, Megargel, and Archer City joined in the fun.
GRAHAM — Graham resident Ryan Mote opened his family property off FM 61 to neighbors on Saturday, inviting Young County residents to see firsthand the land he says will be directly impacted by a proposed multi-billion-dollar data center project.
