COVID-19 Variant Confirmed in Wichita Falls

The Wichita Falls –Wichita County Public Health District has received confirmation fromthe Texas Department of State Health Services(DSHS)that two test samples have returned positive for the COVID-19 Delta variant. The Health District submitted eight samples to DSHS and have received six results thus far. Of the returned samples, three samples are the Alpha variant, two samples are the Delta variant and one was not suitable for testing. Two more tests are pending.

The Olney Heritage Museum (OHM) recently joined the Regional Museum Network (RMN), based out of Wichita Falls, Texas. So, it was only fitting the Olney Enterprise do a series of stories and tour the museums in the alliance, since the Enterprise offices are located upstairs in the Olney Heritage Museum’s building.

On July 13, Hospice of Wichita Falls (HOWF) officially opened the bereavement and meeting center. The new wing of the facility will be used for many purposes, and includes two large meeting rooms, a grief support room, along with several other areas to help accommodate the grief programs and a grief support wall to greet visitors.
