Olney man held on $1 mln bond in child sex case

A Young County judge set a $1 million bond for an Olney man arrested on June 2 on charges of promoting prostitution and the online solicitation of a minor under age 14, police and jail records show. The case is the latest of several ongoing investigations that the Olney Police Department has brought to District Attorney Dee Peavy and that are working their way through the 90th Judicial District Court.

OCLAC hosted a summer yard party and Olney’s children and some adults were clearly having a blast. The yard party boasted games, face painting, snow cones, bubbles and more during the first event of the Library’s summer calendar of fun.

The Keep Olney Beautiful civic organization has been “100 percent” focused on completing the municipal swimming pool in Tom Griffin Park since the City shut down the 70-year-old pool two years ago, but the group has a list of projects to move on to as soon as the pool opens this summer, KOB president Kyle Turner told the Olney Enterprise.
