Olney Hamilton Hospital loses a staff physician this week with the departure of Dr. Christie Munoz who is moving her practice to Seymour Hospital Rural Health Clinic, leaving the remaining three physicians to pick up the slack as the hospital searches for a replacement.
The Larimore family home has been occupied by Larimores for 84 years. It was built in 1937-38 by the early generation of Tomlinson and Averett men…well-known carpenters of their day. There was only a water well to supply water to the house. A windmill pumped the water up into an overhead water tank, which was then piped into the house. Water was used sparingly to conserve the water level in the well.
Win Graham, whose great-grandfather sold lots to found and populate the City of Graham at the 1884 World’s Fair in New Orleans, is running for the county judge’s seat that will be vacated by longtime officeholder John Bullock in December.
The Olney City Council approved a temporary ban on mobile homes inside city limits as they work out zoning rules designed to protect property values, possibly directing the mobile homes to areas of town with larger lots and requirements for elevated foundations, City officials said.
