OES starts Raize Craze fundraiser
Olney Elementary has begun its Raize Craze fundraiser, which raises money for needs that the school may have, as well as school supplies and other classroom necessities. This fundraiser also focuses on acts of kindness performed by the students.
“Raise Craze is an online platform enabling students to set up secure, custom websites where they request donations via email, text, or social,” Principal Halli Mankins said. “During the fundraiser, students pay it forward by completing Acts of Kindness for others.”
This two week long fundraiser is being hosted by the Parent-Teacher Organization and hopefully will be just as successful as last year’s fundraiser.
“Last year, we raised over $23,000,” Mankins said. “This year our goal is $20,000. After just one day, we have raised over $2,000!”
With the fundraiser already looking very promising, it’s expected to be successful.
“We hope this gets to continue,” Mankins said. “Also, we have added many items to the playground, and we have our eyes on the possibility of an outdoor classroom.”
