The Olney school board agreed to pay $3,500 over asking price for a new school bus to ensure the school receives the vehicle as soon as it rolls off the assembly line, school superintendent Dr. Greg Roach said.
The Olney school board of trustees approved a 3 percent pay raise for about 10 employees who are not on a specified salary schedule at a June 27 meeting. The raise covers central office staff, maintenance directors and athletic directors, school superintendent Dr. Greg Roach said. The pay raise was inadvertently left off the agenda when the board approved a 5 percent pay raise for the district’s other employees, he said.

Once I went to a preaching conference with my pastor husband. As you might imagine, at a Baptist conference for preachers, there weren’t too many women around. In fact, although I think there were two other women there, in some sessions I was the only woman in the room. Everywhere I looked I saw men seeking God earnestly, great men who love Christ and love His church, men who are doing their best to give their best to the Savior. It was inspiring, to say the least.
