Olney ISD sends musicians to state

Twenty-seven students from the Olney High School and Olney Junior High Bands participated in the UIL Region 7 North Zone Solo and Ensemble Contest on Saturday, February 18. The event was held at Wichita Falls High School.
Air Tractor community mourns loss of Ag Aviation founder

Air Tractor is saddened to announce the passing of longtime Air Tractor dealer Lourens Kritzinger following a courageous battle with cancer. Lourens was a successful aerial applicatorin South Africa for over four decades, earning a reputation across sub-Saharan Africa for his professionalism and value-added service to customers. For many years, Lourens piloted his own AT-602, providing aerial application services with precision and expertise. Together with his son Matt, they operated Ag Aviation Africa since 2012, providing sales, expert service, and support of the complete line of Air Tractor aircraft. Matt Kritzinger will continue his father’s legacy.
Michael Jacoba named Olney public works director

Michael Jacoba took on the role of Interim Public Works Director last year, after the departure of K.C. Blassingame. The City Council last month officially named Michael to the permanent post of public works director. Here’s a little information on Michael and his experience in our community: Michael started with the City in January 2011.
