City okays multiplelot bidding

The Olney City Council formalized the process for accepting block bids on multiple residential lots to allow a developer to purchase 10 of the approximately 30 lots from the city’s inventory of foreclosed properties. The Council unanimously passed the resolution at a noontime special-called meeting on Feb. 6 after seeking advice from City Attorney Bill Myers on the correct procedure for bundling the lots.

Hospital thanks first responders, rolls out new ambulance

Olney Hamilton Hospital feted the city’s first responders and celebrated the arrival of a new, state-of-the-art ambulance at a gathering at the Olney EMS Building on Feb. 9. OHH Administrator Mike Huff thanked the eight fulltime and eight part-time Emergency Medical Services staff, as well as the Olney Police Department and Young County Sheriff ’s Office at the lunchtime event.
