Deidre Brown resigns from Chamber, graduates from You Lead program
Deidre Brown, director of the Olney Chamber of Commerce, graduated recently from the intensive You Lead training course for future community leaders and revealed that she will be stepping down from her position at the Chamber.
1890s organ donated to Olney Heritage Museum
The Olney Heritage Museum recently acquired an antique pump organ believed to date back to the late 1800s. The instrument was generously donated by the executor of a Wichita Falls family’s estate. The donation occurred as the result of a chance encounter between executor Teresa Roberts and Preston Crow of the House of Mercy.
OISD students go to state UIL contest in Austin
Ten Olney High School students traveled to University of Texas in Austin on Tuesday, May 16, to compete in the State UIL contests held on Wednesday, May 17 through Thursday, May 18. These ten students represent 1st place teams of Calculator Applications, Computer Science, and Mathematics. They are also part of the 2nd place Number Sense team that attended as the Wildcard. Two students will be advancing as individuals in Lit Crit and Informative Speaking. Great day to be a Cub!
