When Katelynn Bailey left Olney for Cisco in 2023, she faced the kind of challenge that can unsettle even the most confident student — walking into a new school and starting over socially, academically, and athletically. Four years later, on Friday, May 22, Ms. Bailey graduated from Cisco High School as valedictorian of the Class of 2026.
Contractors for a major tech company came to town last week to inspect the former Olney Savings building as a possible site for the $70-million network of data centers and support buildings it is constructing across Texas, Olney Economic Development Corporation executive director Tom Parker said.

The City of Olney’s new city administrator, Andy Wolfe, moved to Olney along with his family : wife, Rebecca, and daughters Rylee, 12, and Avery, 11 -They arrived in town on May 8.
