Players for the Sixth Annual McClatchy began arriving at the break of dawn to beat the day’s heat, at least the ones smart or lucky enough to secure a 7:30 a.m. tee-off time. With the 1 p.m. tee-off time, golfers enjoyed the warm Texas summer sun! Photo

‘The McClatchy’ Tournament Marks Sixth Annual Fundraiser at Olney Country Club

The Olney Recreation Association [ORA] hosted the Sixth Annual McClatchy Golf Tournament at the Olney Country Club on the weekend of July 25. The Tourney was full to capacity with the usual waiting list of golfers hoping for a cancellation to be able to enter the tournament.

FBCO Celebrates New Building’s ‘Topping Out’

Several dozen members of First Baptist Church of Olney gathered Friday, July 17, to celebrate a milestone years in the making as the final steel beam of the church’s new education building was lifted into place during a traditional topping-out ceremony.
