Thanksgiving Wishes from House of Mercy
I personally am so excited to be H.O.M.E. for Thanksgiving! Our certified dietician, Tammy Becerra, has already led us into the holiday season with her famous banana split cake, and pumpkin pie made by H.O.M.E. graduate, Philip Wallum. We have ventured into the season with a jubilant and grateful spirit.
Blessed and a Blessing: Alexis Petty
“My name is Alexis Petty. I am 22 years old. I used to be a meth and heroin addict but really drugs weren’t my problem. Sin was my problem. It was so much easier to be selfish, hateful and self-destructive. Now that I have a relationship with Jesus, I live under Grace and now I love my life. He has mended my relationships with my family, but not only that, he has given me a new family as well – The House of Mercy. I couldn’t be more grateful for what God is doing in my life! Also, I can’t wait for what he has in store for the future because I know he has a plan that is greater than mine. So, I have to give my savior, Jesus Christ, all the glory, honor and praise.”
Amity Club Meeting & Treasure Hunt
On Thursday, Nov. 5, The Amity Club held its monthly meeting at Olney Heritage Museum. “Treasured Friends” was the theme, and the meeting began with a treasure hunt. There were four teams comprised of a minimum of four members who worked together to find clues that led to the final treasure. Ronni Walker was the program leader, and the co-hostesses were Judi Winslow and Rita Choat.
