Although no official score was kept during the Cubs scrimmage against the Texas Leadership Charter Academy Eagles, the Cubs scored the only three touchdowns during the match-up.
Newcastle ISD hosted the Back-to-School bash in their new gym. The gym will have the capacity to host four volleyball games at the same time, when the old gym is used.

The Olney Recreation Association [ORA] hosted the Sixth Annual McClatchy Golf Tournament at the Olney Country Club on the weekend of July 25. The Tourney was full to capacity with the usual waiting list of golfers hoping for a cancellation to be able to enter the tournament.
I recently had the honor of representing District 13 at the 107th Annual Department Convention of The American Legion, held July 8-12 in Austin. The annual convention brings together Legionnaires from across Texas to conduct the business of the organization, elect new leadership, hear reports from statewide programs, and discuss the future of serving veterans, their families, and our communities.
